Mattoon Eye Center offers many different services for our patients of all ages:
Medical: We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Regular checks of the retina will detect problems caused by diabetes. A regular exam includes an ocular pressure check which detects glaucoma.
Surgical: Dr. Miller performs office surgeries ranging from lid tumors to laser surgeries for glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. Using the outpatient department at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital (in Mattoon), Dr. Miller performs cataract surgery with intraocular lenses, as well as strabismus surgery on children who are cross-eyed.
Optical Shop: We provide eye-glasses from inexpensive readers to high-end no-line bifocals. Your glasses can come with antireflective and Transition lenses. We have many brands of frames from plastics to titanium. Our Silhouette drilled glasses offer many colors and sizes with any shape desired.
Contact lenses: We fit patients with many different types and brands of contact lenses. We offer soft contacts, gas permeable, and hard lenses.
Botox: Mattoon Eye Center has 20 years of experience with Botox injections : therapeutic for eyelid and facial spasms, and cosmetic for crows-feet wrinkles and contracture lines of the glabella (between the brows). These tiny injections are very low risk, last 6-12 months, and involve no operating or hospital room charges. Subsequent treatments can be adjusted to the patient's desires, making Botox very popular- "A bit more here, a bit less there."
Latisse: Latisse thickens and darkens the eyelashes in a natural way - it is not mascara. Applied with a small brush to the lash roots, Latisse was discovered as a pleasing side-effect of a glaucoma drop. The ladies of the Mattoon Eye Center staff use Latisse and have "before and after" photos. Stop by and take a look.
