Staff
Jette is a JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. She has lived in Mattoon for 40 years. She graduated from Lake Land College with an Associates in Science Degree. She assists Dr. Miller in the office and during surgery at the hospital. She attends continuing education classes yearly. She is also qualified to assist patients with their optical needs in our optical shop.
Karen is a JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. She is originally from the Chicago area, where she got her start in the optical industry in 1982. When relocating to this area she continued in the optical field and additionally became a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. She assists Dr. Miller in the office as well as in surgery at the hospital. Karen works mainly in our optical shop and can assist patients with all their optical needs. She also attends continuing education classes yearly and keeps our office up to date with new products.
Barbara is our receptionist and our billing clerk. Barbara is our newest employee and performs receptionist duties and and does the billing for patients. She can answer any questions that patients might have concerning what will be their financial responsibility. We welcome her on board.
Myrna, Dr. Miller's wife, is the office manager and works with accounts payable. A registered nurse, Myrna also has a bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University. Her work involves paying invoices, calculating payroll & taxes, and auditing accounts, as well as performing numerous managerial tasks that keep keep the Mattoon Eye Center running smoothly.
